About FeetUp Trainer

Inversions with the FeetUp® Trainer, material, size, load bearing capacity…

What are the benefits of inversions?

The ancient scriptures of the yoga masters speak about the invigorating effects of inverted postures (headstand or Salamba Sirsasana) on the body and the mind. The inverted gravity has a invigorative effect on your cardiovascular and digestive systems. You can find further information about the many health benefits of inversions in yoga literature and online.

How does an inversion with the FeetUp® Trainer feel like?

Spoiler alert: it's going to be fun fun fun! Some practitioners might feel a slight pressure in their head while using the FeetUp®Trainer for the first time. If this is the case for you, remember your body needs some time to adjust to the unfamiliar inverted position and the blood flow that comes with it. With regular practice, you will become used to the changes in your blood flow and begin to enjoy the warm soothing sensation.

What are the advantages of doing inversions with the FeetUp® Trainer?

The FeetUp® Trainer helps you achieve inverted postures in a safe and gentle way. Getting your feet in the air has never been safer and more accessible. The weight of your body doesn't rest on your head, but is evenly spread over your shoulders so that your head hangs without strain and your spine is gently stretched.

You can keep your balance easily by holding onto the FeetUp® Trainer's frame. Thanks to the ergonomically designed padding, resting in an inverted posture for several minutes at a time is very comfortable.

How long should I stay upside down?

We would recommend to start with several short inversions a day for only a few seconds. Then gradually increase your inversion time over the course of several weeks. Remember to listen to your body as to when you should bring your feet back to the floor.

Are there any contraindications?

Please make sure to get your doctor's approval before using the FeetUp® Trainer, if:

- you are pregnant
- have high blood pressure
- vision impairments
- suffer from any illness
- after surgeries

Are there any safety guidelines?

Read the User Manual First. Please refer to the user manual included with every FeetUp Trainer for more detailed information.

Check Product Assembly. Make sure all of the screws are tight, the frame is stable and the cushion is firmly attached.

Know Your Surroundings. Practice on a flat surface. Move nearby furniture and objects out of the way. Use a yoga mat or non-slip carpet so your feet don’t slide.

Use Next to a Wall. Not only does it add more stability, a wall eliminates any risk of unintentional backward movement.

Start With a Grounded Inversion. Not all inversions require you to lift your feet up! Begin with supported down dog to build awareness during inversions before anything else.

Move Slowly. The slower you move, the more control you’ll have.
Listen to Your Body. The only person who knows what’s best for you is YOU. Take frequent breaks to check in with how you feel. Don’t forget to breathe!

Use Only as Instructed. Always enter into inversions from the front of the FeetUp Trainer with cushion opening towards the user to ensure plenty of room for safe mounts and dismounts.

DO NOT attempt to enter or exit an inversion from the sides or back.

DO NOT LEAN SIDEWAYS. The FeetUp Trainer is incredibly stable when used correctly. Extreme movement in lateral (side to side) directions could result in product malfunction or injury.

Ok, inversions are awesome. But what else can I do with this product?

Well, much more! The FeetUp® Trainer started off as an inversion tool, but today we see our worldwide community has taken the FeetUp® Trainer and developed some really creative exercises with it. This truly is a versatile tool that can expand everyone’s yoga practice!

You can:

add many new creative asanas to your yoga practicedo strength training with countless bodyweight exercisesrelax like a yogi and find your perfect balance

Can I try out a FeetUp® Trainer nearby?

Ask your local yoga studio if they have FeetUp® Trainers. If they don't, let them know they should! :)

Why? Because headstands are a leading cause for neck injuries and don't allow for a gentle progression. More and more yoga schools are adopting the FeetUp® Trainer in their classes because they want to develop their own practice, keep their students safe, and minimize the risks of injury while maximizing fun and enjoyment.

About FeetUp Mat

My cork mat feels so smooth! How do I increase grip and traction?

Cork becomes more grippy when wet. For optimal traction, a little moisture can go a long way. Try lightly spraying some water to the areas where your hands and feet normally go. Don’t have a spray bottle? Wet a clean towel, wring it out and wipe down your mat before practice.

How do I keep the cork surface clean?

A quick wipe down after each practice should be all it takes to ensure freshness and optimal grip! Dirt, sweat, and oil will build up on the surface of the mat over time. Moisturizing lotions can also coat the cork surface and make you slip instead of grip.

If you have recently applied moisturizer, we recommend a quick hand wash with soapy water before using your mat for best traction. We also recommend using soapy water gently break down any lotion or oil buildup on the cork surface.

How should I store my FeetUp Mat?

Make sure your mat is completely dry before being rolling up. Wipe up excess moisture with a clean towel and let the mat to lay flat to fully dry.

Remember: Cork out, rubber in. This mat has been designed to tightly roll up in one direction with the cork surface facing outward.

Do not sharply fold or twist your FeetUp Yoga Mat! Cork and natural rubber work very well together when rolled up, rolled out, and practiced upon. Sharp folds, deep twists, and hard stretches may damage structural integrity... just like in your own body.
